The Newport Cliff Walk is one of the most famous and scenic public walks in America. This 3.5-mile National Recreation Trail runs along the rocky shoreline of Newport with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the backyards of the legendary Gilded Age mansions on the other. Starting at Easton’s Beach and ending near 40 Steps, the path offers breathtaking ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and unforgettable photo opportunities of The Breakers, The Elms, Rosecliff, and more. The first half is relatively flat and paved, while the southern section becomes more rugged and adventurous. Free to access and open from sunrise to sunset, it’s perfect for walking, jogging, or a romantic stroll.
